Sea Glass Chef David Brown’s afternoon tea offers a delectable way to spend time with friends and family in a comfortably relaxed, luxurious ocean view setting at Inn by the Sea.

Chef Brown’s afternoon Tea by the Sea pairs panoramic ocean views with a delicately balanced combination of sweet and savory bites, drawing inspiration from English Tea traditions, but with a menu that incorporates many Maine favorites. Expect to find diminutive lobster rolls amongst a variety of savory canapes and locally inspired sweets such as house made blueberry scones with blueberry butter or mini Whoopie pies.

With the Atlantic as backdrop, afternoon tea at the seaside Inn offers an intimate setting and fresh alternative to meeting with friends over drinks or a meal. Tea by the Sea is perfect for a casual get-together, a celebration or simply to reconnect with friends.

The Chef’s prix fixe menu includes a selection of fair trade, organic Rishi Teas, and delicate open faced and closed sandwiches with Smoked Salmon, capers, pickled onion and cream cheese on rye; Avocado and Tomato with pickled red onion, sea salt, roasted tomato and Aioli on an English muffin; Poached Potato with sauce Gribiche and caviar; Egg Salad, cucumber, shaved red onion on sourdough; Poached Potato with dill aioli, bacon, egg, and pearl onion on pumpernickel and the Maine Lobster Roll is served with Bibb lettuce on a Brioche roll.

In addition to the mini Whoppie pies and daily made Blueberry Scones sumptuous, decadent sweets also include Butter Cookies and a selection of Danish Pastry. Expect a casual yet gracious Sea Glass experience, whether you're on your own or with friends.

Afternoon Tea will be served in Sea Glass restaurant on Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays from 1PM- 4PM beginning April 12th to May 15th, 2024. ($50 per person, plus tax and gratuities. 24 - hour advance reservations required at 207.799.3134.)
