Crescent Beach, Portland ME

Our upscale family resort offers semi-private beach access to Crescent Beach - offering a perfect day of fun with the family or relaxing sunset walks. Crescent Beach offers over a mile coastal length of pristine sandy beach with gentle surf making it a favorite for families, kite flyers and beach walkers alike. If you have not yet experienced the beaches of Maine, you will discover an abundance of usable flat oceanfront real estate. 

Willard Beach

Located in nearby South Portland, ME - Willard Beach offers 4 acres of area ideal for swimming and commercial/recreational boating. The beautiful campus of Southern Maine Community College borders the beach, which is best known for the scenic views of Spring Point Ledge Light as well as Fort Gorges.

Ferry Beach State Park

Offering 100 acres of space, Ferry Beach State Park is located off Maine Route 9 just 25 minutes from our Maine beach hotel. In addition to sweeping views of miles of white sand beaches between the Saco River and Pine Point sites a stand of tupelo (black gum) trees, which are rare at this latitude. A picnic area, nature trails, guided nature programs, and a changing room are available and canine companions are allowed on the beach from October 1st through March 31st.

Higgins Beach

Higgins Beach offers a little bit of everything to create an ideal family beach day experience. Although a small, sandy beach, sun bathing, kayaking, surfing, treasure hunting for sand dollars, and even fly fishing at the river await. The surf is mostly calm with soft and inviting sand. Higgins Beach is dog-friendly, with times varying each season. From May 15 to Labor Day, no dogs are allowed on the beach from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. From sunrise to 9:00 am, dogs are okay on a leash or voice control; after 5:00 pm to sunset, dogs are okay only on a leash. From April 1 to Labor Day, dogs are not allowed in the restricted beach area between Champion Street and the Spurwink River. From Labor Day to May 14, dogs are allowed on a leash between 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Dogs are okay all other hours on voice control.

Pine Point

Pine Point Beach presents four miles of long sandy beach on Saco Bay and plenty of room to relax on the beach, swim, play catch, or a leisurely stroll. Food and beach type snacks are available for purchase at a small shack along with a shower to rinse off before getting in your car. Within walking distance of the beach, you can rent beach cruiser bikes and kayaks.

Fort Williams Park

Visit the iconic Portland Head Light and Museum, wander amongst the diverse natural environments, or soak in the scenic views in the 90 acres that make up Fort Williams Park. Open year-round from sunrise to sunset, there is plenty to do at Fort Williams Park for the entire family. Tour the arboretum, walk the Cliffside loop, explore the rocky beach, enjoy the playground, or take your dog for a walk. Dogs are allowed in the park on a leash and although there is not a fee to enter the park, donations are greatly appreciated.
