Wine Spectator, considered the world’s leading authority on wine, announced the winners of the 2023 Restaurant Awards, which honor the world’s best restaurants for wine. Launched in 1981, the magazine recognizes three levels of Awards which represent the world’s sole program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service. This year, the Award of Excellence had 2,001 winners, the Best of the Award of Excellence 1,411 winners, and the Grand Award, 93 winners from around the globe.

“We are thrilled to have received the Best of Award of Excellence this year”, stated Shayne Conlon, Director of Food and Beverage at Sea Glass. “We enjoy working with Chef Brown to offer quality and satisfying pairings, across a variety of selections, for the Chef’s handcrafted, regionally sourced menus. The Sea Glass cellar features 420 labels and 2,2000 bottles with focused strengths from both California and France.  Last winter the culinary team travelled to several California wineries to personally hand pick varieties to add to the restaurant’s cellar.”

Sea Glass received the second-tier award for a wine list that features quality producers and wines that diners wouldn’t easily find at local wine stores. Criteria for the award includes breadth across multiple wine growing regions, depth of top producers and superior presentation. The award-winning wine selections must also match the restaurant’s cuisine in both style and pricing, giving guests a well-rounded experience. Winners will be announced in the August issues of Wine Spectator magazine available on newsstands, or online now.

“In a time of technological innovation, restaurants offer the human experience diners are hungry for—listening to their customers and offering personalized experience,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher, Wine Spectator. “The annual issue celebrates the places where wine is at the top of that conversation. I’m pleased to congratulate all 3,505 restaurants for their dedication to wine and wine-loving diners.”
