Inn by the Sea Celebrates Earth Day Hosts 10th Annual Community Beach Cleaning
Cape Elizabeth, Maine. April 1, 2010……….Inn by the Sea will celebrate the 40th Earth Day , hosting the 10th annual Crescent Beach clean up on Sunday April 18th from 1:00 to 3:00PM announced Sara Masterson, General Manager at the inn. Community members, friends, families and inn guests are all invited to help clear the winter rubbish off Crescent Beach while Inn by the Sea supplies gloves, garbage bags, wheel barrows, rakes and delicious treats.
As a thank you to the volunteers, the inn’s pastry chef will bake up delectable treats to enjoy on the lawn with hot chocolate right after the beach clean up.
Inn by the Sea will also add a crab apple tree to their indigenous landscape in support of the Trees Across America Campaign ®, whose goal is to replant one tree for every American over the next six years.
“Tree planting is still the most popular way people around the globe celebrate Earth Day,” said Derrick Daly, head gardener at Inn by the Sea. “The Global Releaf ™ program has planted over 25 million trees across the US since its inception, and we are delighted to support their efforts every year by planting trees at Inn by the Sea. This year the new crab apple tree will also become a great food source for wildlife.”
