Sea Glass Chef's unique take on afternoon tea in Sea Glass marries English tradition with Maine fare in a comfortably relaxed, luxurious setting at Inn by the Sea.

New Englanders take tea seriously- after all, the Boston Tea Party kicked off our Revolutionary war. But you won't have to start a war to enjoy a sumptuous and elegant Tea by the Sea, at Inn by the Sea.

Chef Chadwick's unique take on afternoon tea in Sea Glass marries English tradition with Maine fare in a comfortably relaxed, luxurious setting. Unlike an English tea, Chef Chadwick is serving up two menus that pair Atlantic views with his own, delicately balanced combinations of sweet and savory.

The Chef's Maine Tea, a very local spin on British tradition celebrating all things Maine, starts with lobster brioche bites, and delicate open faced sandwiches with smoked salmon, capers, pickled onion and mustard seed relish on rye; cucumber and radish on sourdough; and poached potato with dill aioli, bacon, egg, pearl onion on pumpernickel. Sumptuous and decadent sweets include mini Maine whoop pie pies, blueberry scones with clotted cream, house made blueberry and strawberry jams, rich butter cookies and seasonal breads.

The Inn by the Sea Tea, offers the same sweets but a different selection of delicate savories and a few non local ingredients. Start with Â a diminutive Avocado, lemon oil, and shaved onion baguette; a pea and prosciutto , citrus, parmesan, goat cheese spread on grilled focaccia; radish toasted sesame , miso yogurt, and chives on pumpernickel; and local ham on rye with pimento cheese, and green olive.

Steeped exquisitely in tradition, 7 different varieties of fair trade, blended organic Rishi teas will complement Chef Chadwick's menus, served in the fireplace lounge, on the outside decks or in Sea Glass restaurant on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays from 1PM- 4PM.

Re fuel with afternoon tea after a glorious walk on Crescent Beach, and expect a casual yet gracious Sea Glass experience, whether you're on your own or with friends. Â
