Welcome to Spring at Inn by the Sea

Dear Friends of Inn by the Sea:

With spring breezes arriving on the coast, we say goodbye to winter’s chill! Over the winter, our dedicated hospitality team has been preparing to ensure that every aspect of your next visit to the Inn exceeds expectations. As we anticipate the beauty of our coastal location in full bloom, we all look forward to welcoming you back to the beach.

Resort Manager Nick Shumate and his operations team have been busy at work making use of the quiet months to refresh the property and this year you will notice many of our public spaces have been revitalized. You’ll find new wallcoverings, beautiful carpeting, cork flooring and fresh paint in the SPA and new, brighter wall coverings extending through the meeting rooms into the main lobby. Nick and I are also working closely with the inn’s ownership on a comprehensive plan to update the main inn guestrooms in late 2024 into early 2025. We are eager to share some of those visual details in the summer season opening letter – it’s going to be terrific!

Executive Chef David Brown continues to enhance regionally sourced produce in Sea Glass with handcrafted menus for every taste. Please join us for the Chef’s delectable Easter Brunch, complete with an early morning egg hunt for our youngest guests, on Sunday March 31st.  Then celebrate Mom with a special Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday May 12th and gather family around the table to enjoy summer flavors with the launch of Chef’s new seasonal menu in May.

Maine’s spring offers endless relaxed hours outdoors to walk the beach, stroll the boardwalk, savor a meal on the Sea Glass deck, swim in the pool or simply unwind on the sand with a book. The swimming pool will be open for the season in time for spring school vacations on April 12th.

This spring and summer we hope you will reconnect with family and friends as you enjoy our full schedule of warm weather programs. Until the full summer program begins, we invite you to rejuvenate in Spa, enjoy a meal with ocean views or relax with a cocktail at outdoor fire tables. Start the day with morning yoga on the seaside lawn or enjoy a new line up of daily activities for both adults and children. Our bikes are back to cruise the coast, and every day should end with smores at the campfire!

As a preview of summer activities Derrick’s popular Bug’s Life program for kids and garden Tours with tips on gardening will return, as will Family Beach Walks with a naturalist, Beach Ecology walks, children’s art, wine education, and the daily appearance of the popular Ice Cream Tricycle with complimentary frozen treats.

After twenty years of sustainable resort operations and being a member of Beyond Green, I am pleased to announce that 100% of the Inn’s electricity is now clean and renewable, supplied by a Maine solar farm. The Inn continues to be committed to great guest experiences and adventures that align with responsible travel.

Whether a returning guest or first-time visitor we look forward to welcoming you to the Inn to enjoy a classic resort experience with elegant hospitality. We invite you to make a reservation at www.innbythesea.com or call our reservations team at 207.799.3134.

Warm wishes
