Sea Glass Restaurant at Inn by the Sea is honored with Wine Spectator Award

(Cape Elizabeth- August 4, 2016.) Sea Glass Restaurant at Inn by the Sea is honored to be included in the select group of restaurants chosen for Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence, stated Inn Manager Michael Briggs.  According to Wine Spectator , this second level award recognizes a restaurant’s deep commitment to wine, both in the cellar and through their service team.  Only three restaurants in Maine have been recognized with the second tier award.
“We are thrilled to be awarded the Best of Award of Excellence,†stated Briggs. “This award reflects the attentive planning of our Executive Chef, Andrew Chadwick,  and his culinary team to ensure the  Sea Glass cellar caters to all palettes, and offers  just the right pairing to complement each selection on the Chef’s seasonal menus.â€
The Sea Glass wine collection focuses on California and French wines, with choices from regional vineyards, but also includes top producers from around the globe.
According to Wine Spectator, their Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants who feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Their Best of Award of Excellence, their second tier award, is reserved for restaurants that are destinations for serious wine lovers, and display significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation.
Chef Chadwick plans to create changing seasonal menus to pair with the wine cellar, as well as innovative pairings for wine and beer dinners, and special offerings for holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.
